Back in June, I shared in a Church Family Meeting changes taking place with our support staff due to multiple resignations. Outlined below are important updates to keep you informed on how things are progressing.
Church Office: Cara McNichols has been a wonderful part of our support staff for some time now and will be extending her hours and office responsibilities in order to help oversee all office operations. Cara and her husband David, along with their three sons, have been with us at LifePoint for many years. David also serves on our Finance Team, and all three boys have been involved in our student ministry.
Children’s Ministry: Lauren Lenox has joined us as our new Preschool Coordinator. In this role, she will assist Mary Veal, our Director for Children’s Ministry, in directing LifePoint’s preschool ministry which entails developing curriculum, supporting teachers, communicating with parents, and ensuring a Christ-centered, nurturing environment for our youngest learners. Lauren and her husband Ben, along with their three daughters, are known to most of you, having been active members here for many years.
Student Ministry: Victoria Housman has been an integral part of the student ministry this past year serving as a ministry assistant, with a focus on Middle School Ministry. As such, she has helped in planning church camps, retreats, and more. She will now expand that role and will also help us in the office assisting with reception duties. Victoria is married to Nathan, whom you will occasionally see playing the drums as part of our worship ministry on Sunday mornings.
Facilities: Nick Boyum joined our staff on July 21 as our new Building and Grounds Coordinator and will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance, safety, and upkeep of all church property and equipment. Andy Nelson will continue to assist us in this area as he has done for many years. Nick and his wife Katherine are actively involved here at LifePoint. They share three sons and two daughters.
Events/Facility Use: Allison Nixon is our new Facilities and Events Coordinator and will manage the use and scheduling of all LifePoint Church facilities. Allison and her husband Greg, along with their two daughters, have been part of our LifePoint family for many years. Communications: Sophie Nye has been working as our communication assistant since January 2025. She is currently a college student but will increase her hours and responsibilities in this area of ministry. In addition, Jason Nye (yep, Sophie’s father) is our new Communications Coordinator. Jason will bring his extensive experience in this area to help us oversee church communications, including our website management, overseeing ministry event publications and assisting with additional graphic design and promotional needs. Jason is married to Emily. They are parents to six children, four daughters and two sons.
Life Groups: Luke Holladay, one of our pastoral residents, will be supporting the Life Groups ministry on an interim basis as part of his residency responsibilities. Luke also works for our Campus Outreach Ministry here at LifePoint. He and his wife Alaria are parents to a son and three daughters.
